Just wanted to share a weight loss journey with you and give you the motivation and positivity to do it yourself! No one but you can do this and you have to be ready to go on this journey, or you will never follow through with it.
Will it be easy peasy? Nope. Will it be fun? Hmm not all the time, but you can make it fun! Will you be miserable? Nope, because you are going to be on a road to a healthier, happier and younger-looking YOU!

It’s true for some reason when you lose weight you look younger…
Our Story of how we did it
I used to be at 120 pounds no matter what I did! The 2nd time I was pregnant. I gained 60 pounds! But it came right off afterward. (The first pregnancy I lost my baby)
The 2nd and 3rd time the same thing. Did I work out and eat right? Nope, I was younger and it just came off for some reason. I thought man this is great!
Slowly Gaining
Well, I ended up at age 37. Having a complete hysterectomy. Then ALL things changed for me. It seemed no matter what I did, I was slowly gaining weight and then I was having so many emotional issues and trying different things. Well, that’s a whole different story.
Anyway, from that time, which was 1992 until 2007, 15 years. I struggled and went from 120 to 210 pounds. You know you are gaining weight. But you just go and buy a bigger size until it’s tighter. Then you become depressed and down on yourself. What is wrong with me? Why don’t I eat better and exercise? We seem to always be the hardest on ourselves.
Well, it hit me hard when we had all our kids and our first granddaughter together for Christmas in 2005 and we decided to have family photos taken, ugh… When the proofs were ready to look at, I went by myself and looked at them. I couldn’t believe how I looked to me, it was a horrible day. I left there and cried all the way home. Again being really mean and hard on myself.
I had just been to the store a few weeks before this. And had to buy bigger jeans. I was now in a very tight 16 :(. So I bought a size 18…
At that time, I started to try and cook better. Because my hubs wasn’t a small fry either ;). We both needed to eat better and exercise.
We started walking as much as we could. And eating better, we actually tried different diets, but I knew one thing for sure, when we stopped those diets we would gain anything we lost back.
It was a yo-yo system and not a good idea. Now, I’m not knocking any “diet” but not for us. Then we moved back home to Missouri from Utah. And took my mom out to Merrimack Caverns and she took this photo of us…
Before we lost weight

When I saw this photo. I took it to my hubs and I said: “We have to do something! Or we won’t be around to watch our grandkids grow up and become adults!”
He says: “I agree and whatever you want to do, I will do it also.”
So our actual weight loss journey started in the summer of 2007.
What we did
We decided to join the gym and make ourselves go a minimum of 3 days a week. So we joined at that time was 24 Hour Fitness which is Gold’s Gym here now. But I know the 24 Hour is in other places. We joined and started off pretty good. We were going pretty much 3 times a week and trying to walk while at home.
Then we decided we needed help with our eating better. So we heard of this product that a friend of mine kept telling me about and I kept saying yeah maybe one day. Well, we took the leap and man oh man, life was never the same! This product will not make you lose weight, but it helps so much it’s amazing! It’s just three simple steps a day…1,2,3 and that’s it! You may or may not have heard of it, but it’s 2 capsules first thing in the morning, then 20-40 minutes later, drink your lifestyle mix, (many flavors) then put a DFT (patch) on your body and you are great to go all day long!
So after about a month, he had lost around 12 pounds! Of course, it seems men always lose faster! But I had lost 8 pounds. So, I was thrilled!
Then we figured we needed more help at the gym. So, we saved and hired a trainer for 6 months. He worked with us both and taught us how we needed to work. It wasn’t easy at first and again I cried at times. But he was sweet and kept us going and then at 3 months. I could feel and see the difference and then there was no stopping me at this point! But the energy we had from this product was nothing short of amazing!
This product and eating a more healthy way is what helped us get to where we needed to be and where we are today! We feel GREAT!

So no matter how you go about it. Whatever works for you. Just make sure it is a plan you want to stay on the rest of your life. Let’s face it the word die-t has the word die in it…
Usually, diets don’t last because of the way they work. Yes, you may drop some weight at first. But then you get tired of eating that way…

Why am I against these kinds of die-ts?
Well, there are lots of reasons! Here are a few…
- Diet’s just don’t work! Of course, you lose weight, but at least 90% or more will regain it all back plus some within a few years. A deprivation of restrictive eating might lead to binge cycle and of course, your body doesn’t want you to starve, so it slows down your metabolism then, of course, makes it harder to lose that weight.
- The so-called FAD diets can be very harmful because they most likely lack essential nutrients and they teach you nothing at all about healthy eating. Hence, why they are called FAD.
- When you can’t have a certain food on your restrictive list, it takes all the pleasure out of eating completely and then your mind says, I have to have that, I need that and then..the binge cycle starts and it’s very hard to stop, as I’m sure you know all of this by now.
- All of these can also lead to eating disorders and we sure don’t want that.
- They do say sometimes obesity and overweight can be caused in our minds by early life trauma of some kind. If you feel this is you then please ask for help to see what is causing you to overeat.
- This product is not a FAD diet, it isn’t a diet at all. It is for your health and heals your body from the inside. It has been around for years and proven to be great.
Our Foods today
Our foods today are loaded with hormones. And chemicals that cause us to want to eat more! Oh yes, this is true, there are a number of good documentaries to watch about this on Netflix. One is Food Matters (2011) another one is Hungry for Change (2008)
Okay, I understand you want to lose weight, just as I/we did and I consider the way we did it and still do today is a healthy way.
Get Serious for yourself
Don’t do it for anyone else. It won’t last. Don’t do it for that high school reunion, it won’t last. DO IT FOR YOU.
You have to love yourself enough to say I am worth this!!
So, we got serious and started counting our points/calories. And recording every little thing. Even gum into our mouths, or even a taste while cooking counts! Then and only then did we feel and see a difference! Today we still watch and count what we eat. I do not buy any pre-made foods, I buy either fresh fruit and vegetables or frozen. The only canned goods, I do buy is, diced tomatoes or sauce. We do use Bolthouse Farms dressings made with yogurt, they are amazing and very low on points/calories. It is amazing how many ideas you can get using Chobani nonfat Greek Yogurt! When we have a Mexican dish, I mix some nonfat Greek yogurt with some Chi Chi salsa. So delicious!!! My hubs use it on lots of things.
Just start
Start slow, don’t overwhelm yourself and make yourself miserable. Be nice to yourself. Only weigh in once a week, but DO weigh in…That scale isn’t always nice and your mind will get the better of you if you weigh in all the time. Love yourself.
Please try this product of mine for 30 days, that’s it and I know you will love it! Most people start it and within a week they start feeling the difference. Now some feel it on day one, others not for a week, then if your body needs more detox it may take a little longer, but if you stick to it and do it correctly every day, you WILL see and feel the difference. On my first photo in 2011, I had already lost 45 pounds, it was a slow start, but by 2012 I had lost 90!!
My hubs started at around 310 we think, due to scale only goes to 300 and now he is a sexy 220!! 😉
